Teaching the
youth about the world of technology
Vodacom has decided that very soon they will be starting an online program designed to teach the youth skills they will need for the world of tomorrow.
It is called the Vodacom School of tomorrow. It meant to create a gate way for young people to fall in love with technology from an early age.
The courses featured include:
- Coding
- Animating
- Web design
- Robotics
- Communication engineering
- Telecommunication ,etc.
This is to help create a larger group of people who are more technologically incline and will help guide the human race into a better brighter tomorrow
The inspiration for this came to Vodacom’s Senior project manager Wybrand Conradie after he saw the amazing bounds that head of Space X and Tesla Elon Musk had been making in the world of technology and space exploration. “I saw the wonderful things that Elon Musk had been doing with Space X and Tesla and I thought that can't be the only South African whose capable of that I mean what's stopping the rest of us. So I told my wife that the minute I step into that office tomorrow I'm going to tell the CEO what I have planned and now three months down the line we're closer than ever to starting our program"-Wybrand Conradie
These courses aren't designed to make the students qualified practitioners. They’re mainly aimed at people between the ages of 10 to 18.Youngsters who aren't entirely sure what direction they want to take in life or just have a love science and technology but aren't really sure where to start. The program will help guide them to their future goals and achievements.
It is designed in such a way that each week students will be given a particular project they need to complete based on their specific course, a lot of it will happen online through the help qualified professionals who have offered they're services in the form of virtually pre-recorded lessons, but some of these projects will have students designing and creating real life practical models. This is so students can get a realistic feel of the complexity of some of these projects. Not to worry though, as these projects have been designed with children's safety in mind.
All that's left now really is to hear back from our team in charge of this project when it will be ready and fully functional so we can have South Africa’s youth dazzle us with their get inventions
